I'm having my first tonight! Your impressions on box pressed sticks?

I like both box pressed, and oval. It took a little bit to get used to em. Maybe it's just me but I think they burn a bit slower!

Ive read they use a "tougher" or "Thicker" (for lack of a better term) binder which effects flavor and smoke out put... I did just google search it and cant find it again... boo me...I really like "pressed" cigars. Factory Press, Vice Press, Box ETC

Box press gives a little higher wrapper to filler ratio which I like

Nothing wrong with a good box pressed stick.

I have found them to be a pain to touch up sometimes..... But other than that, I like them or dislike at the same frequency as other sticks. Also, they don't roll away from me : p
  • the ones ive had tend to burn a bit slower

They're handy if you're not using a SS.

It seemed awkward to smoke at first.

+1 on the factory press. I've had a few of the LFD factory press lately and liked em a lot!!

I've always liked the pressed shapes better than round, but not square like Oliva G or Sancho Panza.

There are some tasty box-pressed cigars. But generally I try to avoid them. They never burn even for me. And touching up is a pain.

How about some details? What stick was it? How did it burn, taste and ,......Hmmm, I guess that covers the important detail questions. Speaking of awkward, I just had my first San Latano Oval last night. That was an awkward feel in the hand for me at first but I got the hang of it. Excellent stick, up until the point that I was distracted enough to let it go out with a little more than 1/3 stick left. Only half as good after the re-light even though I was very gentle with the re-light flame.

I had the 5 Vegas Gold. It was a decent smoke but had a sulfur taste half way through. I powered through it and it only got really hot after the sulfur taste left. It just felt weird to smoke. Didn't feel right takin puffs of of it. It was awesome to hold! Really comfortable and did not like my stogie stand. Lol it seemed to rotate and slide alot in the stand.
