Where and when do you smoke?

For me as a newbie it's not a very regular thing, but I smoke outdoors, usually out on the sea wall near my place in the evening. By myself for the most part, and that's the way I like it. If I lit up indoors my better half would strangle me! Sorry if this has been posted before. I didn't see a forum search function like other message boards have.

I smoke outside on the patio under the cover. When?, pretty much whenever I can morning, noon or night. I generally read while I smoke, so the time tends to fly by and it is easy to burn multiple cigars in a day.

Lately I've been smoking every evening, somewhere between 9 and 11. Occasionally earlier, around 6 or so.

Most often I sit on my back porch and smoke, it's covered and fairly well protected from the wind.

I normally smoke either in the garage or on my back porch. When is just whenever I can, on days off its normally one in the morning, one after lunch, and one in the evening. Work days its more like one or two a day. Like Joe, I generally read while I smoke, I find it very relaxing.

The when really depends on my schedule for the day. I almost always start my day off with a smoke. I'll usually have another at night as well. It's really whenever I have the time to smoke. As for where, I smoke here in my room.

I agree with just about all the previous comments regarding the whenever and wherever I can philosophy, but it's hot as hell in the desert....

So, mainly at night on my porch or I also love going to the sportsbooks at the local casino's to take in a game, air-conditioned climate, and a nice stick.

Although the sea wall sounds pleasant; do it wherever you are going to get the most enjoyment out of it, I think!

I quite often sit out in the backyard watching the eagles or at the right time of year the Heron's in their nest's. I love sitting at the lake and watching the world going by as I am enjoying a nice stick.

Like you tho, quite often I prefer to be alone while smoking. I don't like to think that I am bothering other people with my smoke, and then I spend so much time worrying about that, that I don't relax and enjoy my stick as well.

Shaun we are going to have to get together for a herf here one of these days. Maybe I'll get in touch with you the next time I am in Van. and we can herf on the Sea Wall. That would be KEWL.

I have the perfect job to smoke. In a rail yard outside on the office deck. No one to complain about the ambient smoke, I can talk to my truck drivers watch whats going on and most importantly, it gets me away from that d@m computer. Not sure what I'll do when it gets to -15 F..!

I usually smoke in the afternoon-evening alone on my balcony while reading. Occasionally I will take a cigar for a walk as well.

In my den, on my back porch, in my truck, in my shop, in my office, in the local B&M, and anywhere else i can. As to when, ..... well, i don't smoke while i'm sleeping, the rest of the day is fair game.

Laker: That would be awesome. I popped by the Van. Cigar Co. after work today by the way, and Trevor talked me into a Jose L. Piedra. I went Cuban even though I had originally wanted a non-Cuban. He didn't have much stock, as he's in the process of moving. Ever smoke one of these. It'll be a first for me. But hopefully that will change by the end of the weekend.

Usually on the covered front porch or the stoop, bs'ing with the neighbors as they walk by and drinking a few beers. Too often I sit there with the laptop wasting my time on here or other sites...I like reading when I smoke too, but for some reason I rarely do. I'm usually a Fri/Sat/Sun evening smoker.

I usually smoke late at night in the garage. I'll either watch the tv I have in there or sit in the dark and contemplate on the cigar I am smoking. Occasionally I'll bring a few smokes for me and the band to enjoy on jam night.

I've smoked in a couple places to date (at home, in the car, at the b&m), and I have to say that I really don't like moving while I smoke. I love my local b&m because they have the great smoking area with big leather chairs that I wish I had, but most of the time I enjoy my cigars on my back porch at night, after dinner. Our pool has a couple waterfalls going into it, so it's pretty relaxing just to chill in the dark with some friends, or my fiance (she indulges me sometimes).

I usualy have a cigar every night. I enjoy it better when it's dark out, dont know why. maybe because it is more relaxing that way? Anyway, I really enjoy a cigar on my back porch at night, alone or with one to two other people, no more than that.

I like to stargaze while I smoke. I don't set up a telescope or anything, but I just sit and relax while pondering the stars. That's why I like to smoke at night anyway.

for me it's usually on the weekends. I'll enjoy a stick during the week once in a while, usually when my local B&M has an event.

I've almost stopped altogether. It's so stupidly hot right now that it isn't worth it. When I do have a cigar though it's on the back porch, either at night when the family is asleep, or early in the morning...when the family is asleep.

It has been pretty hot recently Russ... I've always dealt pretty well with the heat, but man it's been humid too recently. Nasty stuff.
  • I've got a few favorite spots to smoke. Over at my father's with a nice fire going. On my porch watching the activites of the people that make up my community (Kuzi can vouch for that one). At the local BM, or on a hill on campus. I smoke usually when I get the chance, which hasn't happened to much lately.

Yeah. 80's I can deal with, even 90's, but when it's 100+ for multiple days in a row it gets on my nerves. I just can't relax in that kind of heat. I hear you on the humidity too. It keeps feeling like it's gonna rain.

Over the summer, when I was living in a house with friends, we'd smoke in the basement and play xbox. Eventually we moved to smoking outside under the over-hang, sitting around and just shootin' the ****. Stan was always afraid to come over because of how dirty it was, looking back, I can't blame him. Now I smoke at Renaissance_Man's house, or around campus. I smoke when I can find the time, so morning, noon, or night, depending on when I'm free. I'm lucky that my girlfriend likes to take a puff or ten from my cigars now, so she'll hang out with me while I smoke.

The closer I am to fresh air the better, I am finding.
At first I smoked in front of the TV. But my living room has only one window and the air does not flow well through there.
Then I moved out to my porch. Usually about 5pm when I step out of my man-cave after a hard days work from home. The porch is small but is very nice, not because I get to stare at the rear of two buildings, but because one of my neighbors has a lot of Jasmine bushes and the smell is awesome while I produce smoke. See my view in this thread

But last night I actually packed the motorcycle up at 11:30 pm at night and got a bottle of cold water and rode into Golden Gate Park, which is closed at night, I might add. I then proceeded to drive to Stow Lake and I park and sit at a bench over looking the darkened lake. I can see some water fowl gliding in the full moon light. I hear some fish splashing and the call of some fish eating bird eating dinner. Sprinklers are turned on but the bench I picked has a dry spot at the very end. Occasionally I feel the spray/mist of the sprinkler which is nice and refreshing.

I am going to try and smoke down there as much as possible. Very serene.
