Cool thread, Morgan! Thanks for starting it. Lots of variety in the answers. Pretty broad cross-section of vocations.

was a specialty coatings contractor "glorified painting contractor :P", due to back injury am a current IT student .......LOOKING FOR A JOB - am Sick and Tired of my 4 year "vacation"
Bread or cookie route Owner, never work more then 5 hours a day and home by 8 am, but the checks have been great so its worth the 33 year I have been doing it.
Gets boring, but when it gets to boring I sell and buy another bread or cookie route,
Husband, father, Paramedic, fire fighter, drummer, bad guitar player, horrible bass player, duct tape toting handyman, aspiring bike builder and half-way decent part-time tattoo artist.
LOL! Very nice resume, Daniel... Although, I would suggest that if you ever print up business cards for that last gig, you might want to work on the wording a bit.
(Hmmmm... thinking about getting a permanent tattoo. Oh, look! This guy is half-way decent! And he's part-time too! Where's my cell phone??)
I'm seein' a future episode of "Bad Ink" in the making. :^)

Working a straight 56 hr shift, two days of physical therapy and chasing kids on my day off makes it hard to squeeze in time for my apprenticeship, hence the "part-time" designation. I'm making headway just not as quickly as I'd like.
Funny that you referenced "Bad Ink" because I've been doing some cover-up work lately. This isn't a cover, but it was a single pass piece during one session.

We have much in common. A back injury sidelined me and back to school I went. IT course for me as well, and got really sick of the "4 year vacation". I now work as an "IT specialist" but I had to sell my house and move to another city to get steady work. I design/build and deploy custom "in house" programs, when I'm not busy repairing or upgrading the hundreds of computers deployed globally for the company.

Hope my joke didn't offend... just got a kick out of your choice of words. Your talent, however, is WAY better than "half-decent." That is a beautiful tat, brother! Very nice!

I don't think I've answered this... I am a first year student and teaching assistant in an economics Ph.D. program. Before going back to school I worked in a litigation consulting firm, and this is what I'd like to do when I finish my degree.

Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.

Toombes, that's a badass tat.
