It may be extreme...

...but it made me feel better.
We had another ice storm during the night and we were waiting for the power outage. People around here drive too fast and have never learned that a 4-wheel drive vehicle will not climb trees or utility poles.
The power went out about 1030am.
Grabbed 3 of my 4 footed friends and my humidor and got under the blankets.
Power back on about 1230pm.
Don't laugh, it would not be polite.

I'm pretty lucky to have never had to go through that type of situation. Bring some bourbon next time dude.

You're missing out. Snowed in is loads of fun. One of my fondest memories is one weekend the grandchildren were over the power went out on an ice storm. We stayed up by candlelight playing games. Brought all the blankets to the living room and slept in a big puppy pile. Woke up in the morning the trees were all jeweled.

    I love weather.

“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
