Does humidity have a tendancy to spread out?
To put it more clearly: If I had a Tupperware container full of beads in a cooler, would the humidity fill the cooler, or will it be more humid closer to the beads?

There may be some initial discrepencies, but once the beads do their job, it will always equal out to be the same across the humidor.

So it will always be BETTER near the beads and worse the farther away you are, but once the beads get things in order the same Rh will be throughout the cooler

And in something like a cooler, the differences noted from close to the beads and further away would be so minimal as to not even be worth mentioning. If you want to be sure, put your beads in one side and your hygrometer in the opposite side, if it reads what it's supposed to then all is well.
