Lot 23

Well, I finally did it. I tried my first Lot 23 by Perdomo yesterday morning along with coffee on my patio. CigarCyclopedia says Lot 23 is a medium-to-full bodied smoke but I gotta tell ya, the first 3/4 of an inch or so almost brought me to my knees. Man!! When it finally got down into its sweet spot it got a little more tolerable but not by a great deal.

Now, I've tried a number of full-bodied sticks before but this one was something else. Even Rocky Patel's Edge, which cigarCyclopedia says is "extra-full bodied" is a piker compared to this puppy. You guys who like 'em can have 'em. I'll stick with the CAO Italia or Brazilia any day before I'll buy another Lot 23.

You know what they say, "Opinions are like belly buttons - everybody's got one", well, this is mine. I frankly don't know what all the fuss is all about with the Lot 23. Not worth another try, for me.

i recommend you give all but one away. save that one and let it age for a few years. itll take the edge off. you may like it then.

... but ill be glad to take them if you are gifting

Ah darn... I was gonna say if you had more I'd trade for em. I loved the Lot 23, and I am not a fan of full-bodied sticks at all. I didn't get the kick from it that you did, though...

medium to full???? Lot 23??? REALLY??? I find them mild to medium at best. Had one with my morning coffee recently and it was just as great as the first one I had. I don't know if I'd call the edge "extra-full bodied" either, though I've only had one experience with them. At those ratings, cigars like opus and flor dominicana's double ligero must not even exist!

Maybe the one I had was an anomoly but I'm just repeating what CigarCyclopedia says about 'em. They're the only source I know about for info on all the jillions of smokes out there....

What kind of wrapper was it? The one I had, a connecticut, was pretty mild. Mild-medium at most.

Yeah I've had several and none have been very strong to me ...I'd call them medium at a stretch ...interesting experience Marty ...
  • I've smoked two, and they weren't strong at all to me. i'd go along with the medium strength. They just weren't great to me. I love the Perdomo Habano, but the Lot23 just didn't do it for me.

I thought the 23 Conny was pretty good for a mild cigar, but I definately wouldn't say it was powerful. Then again, the only cigar that ever actually made me puke was a RP Rosado, the robusto at that. Every other one of those I've had hit me perfectly in the mediul body range. Maybe you just got one rolled by a torcedor that wanted to play a joke on some gringos and threw some ligero in, lol.

Now that I find odd...I never experienced the Rosado to be more than medium bodied...strange how we all experience things so differently.

I know, wierd huh? Every other one I have had, mostly Toros, have been squarely in the medium.
