    I have been there a few times, but before I smoked, but where the dock that takes u over to Coxumel there down the street are all kinds of great bars and restaurants.

    Enjoy the trip. That water is pretty incredible. There is an ecological theme park that was pretty neat and basically right in town. If you don't want crowds I'd stay away though. A must see is one of the ruins; Tulum is blocked off so you can't climb on the temple but the beach is wonderful, Coba has more shade and you can climb up the temple, or Chichen Itza which is the farthest away, but the biggest of the three although you can't climb that one either.

    As for smokes, there are a number of certified habanos shops in Playa Del Carmen, including a La Casa Del Habano. http://www.lacasadelhabanoplayadelcarmen.com. Have fun brother we are all jealous.
