Ok, so I have been tip-toeing around the forum actively trying not to post too much...only because I couldn't come up with (what I thought) a worthy 1,000th post contest. I think I have finally come up with something I can live with. I hope everyone will get involved and make it worth the effort.
For this contest, the goal will to be name the 10 cigars that are the prize for winning the contest. I have chosen 10 sticks. Each are numbered 1-10 and below are some clues as to what cigar they are. Your goal is to guess the maker and cigar/blend, no need to worry about the size. Each question will be weighted by cigar and difficulty of clue. Points range from 2 - 5 points.
Clues:
1. This cigar is probably my favorite connecticut wrapped cigars. At MSRP, they are a bit too expensive for my budget, but worthy of a momentary splurge
worth 4 points
2. This maduro is the newest addition to my collection.
worth 3 points
3. This cameroon wrapped stick was the first cameroon I tried. I didn't like it at first, but it has since grown on me. It's maduro wrapped partner is one of my go to sticks.
worth 2 points
4. The cameroon wrapped stick is a "rare" find for atleast one BOTL on this forum.
worth 2 points
5. This full bodied stick is found on my favs list.
worth 3 points
6. When I think of the classic cameroon with domicican filled cigar, this is the cigar I think of.
worth 5 points
7. I have heard others describe this stick as being odd, and I would have to agree. Not a bad stick, but probably the most different I've had...and they are somewhat abundant on the forum
worth 2 points
8. This stick has the shortest name of the cigars on this list. Has a little bit to do with the brand.
worth 3 points
9. This criollo wrapped cigar features a three country blend of tobaccos, including tobacco from Costa Rica
worth 2 points
10. This is fuller bodied cigars took 6 years to develop.
worth 5 points
Tie Breaker: number of Padron Anniversary Cigars in my collection as of today (9/30/2009), this includes 64s and 26s
OK...looks like there is about 31 points up for grabs. I will allow 1 guess per forum member every 48 hours. The contest will close exactly a week after my 1,000th post or in the case in which a member guesses all 10 cigars correctly (hey, it could happen). Good luck and hope it proves to be a good contest.

just a word to the wise on this. Every cigar has a maker and a model...so each will be at least two words. IE. Padilla Miami - padilla being the maker, Miami being the cigar.
