Definitely try it. It's pork shoulder ham, just the right size for one person. I ate bunches of it back when I was a long distance solo sailor. A spam, a pickle, plenty mustard, maybe a soda cracker, and you are good to go.

I have to admit it has been awhile since I made any of my world famous hot spam sandwiches.

In your grocers bread isle look for a roundish loaf that is ......wait for it....that is black. The (best) black bread is called "black bread" and there is one that is pumpernickel bread. It makes the best sliced meat sandwiches you can imagine.
