I watched all of the first season, part of the second and about 5 minutes of the third, never had a desire to watch any more of it.

I think it can and I think it will. It has been gone long enough that fans will watch (as long as it does have a decent story and they won't be able to pull off too many swerves like in past seasons). I can't wait till tomorrows episode. I just finished watching season 8 last week.
