Was wondering if anyone has built there own Kayak? I saw one today that was very nice, 14 footer It doesn't look like it would be that difficult to do.

    It looks like I can order plans from a company in Maine, I need to do a little more research.

    If you think you can build then do it! Nothing more self satisfying than a piece of furniture or water flotation device being hand made by yourself. Good Luck!

    Have built pram, dinghys, punt, scow, several dorys, even a whitehall. Never a kayak. Bought all three kayaks I've owned. Too easy and cheap to just buy an indestructo plastic one. I like those surf kayaks.
