LOL, I'm not saying the Republican party doesn't have issues but this is laughable

I wouldn't really call it a history lesson, but it is one persons opinion; neither of these articles are very balanced.

The links to a history lesson for you http://russp.us/racism.htm

and some light reading of more recent events http://mediatrackers.org/national/2013/06/20/6-horribly-racist-comments-from-obama-admin-officials are historical fact.

And the "news shows" all seem to get it backwards. Why can't people learn history. After reading those links people should read about lbj.

A classic example of how history changes over time. Call it facts or call it opinion. Your call. If you dont like the truth call it an opinion if it makes you feel better.

It's quite clearly an opinion piece, same as the first piece. Just because you agree with one more than the other doesn't change that. The author of your article doesn't deny the political shift that happened after the Civil Rights Act was passed, but instead switches focus to how members of the Democratic party started the Klan; which he doesn't mention as being before the political shift. Regardless, none of these past acts are relevant to the current parties.

When exactly do past acts become irrelevant? Is Nixon irrelevant? Is Clinton irrelevant? Is Bush irrelevant? Is Obama irrelevant? Seems your facts become irrelevant whenever your view requires it. What difference at this point does it make?

Do you really think that the Republican party of Nixon is the same as the Republican party of today? There has been a political shift in both parties over the last 30 years. The Republicans have moved farther to the right of their predecessors, while the Democrats have moved farther left. While it is important to look to the past to gain a prespective of who we are, it is not always indicative of where we are currently or where we are going.

Back on topic..... some republicans are racist, some democrats are racist, some blacks are racist, some whites are racist. No one can say for certain that one is more or less racist than the other. Life goes on.
