Cigar City Brewing Cigars

ZAPZAP Posts: 186 ✭✭
Two questions.

First has anyone had those cigars they roll right in the brewery at Cigar City in Tampa?  if so what were your thoughts?

Also do I need to worry at all about tossing a freshly rolled cigar in a humidor with cigars with more age on them?   I'm kind of confused on this freshly rolled cigar bit so I thought I would check.   I don't think there is an issue with that but better to be safe than ruin a bunch of cigars..

Thanks for any help.

Fresh rolled cigars go through a sick period. They should be smoked within three months or after twelve months of age. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that time frame). During that time there is said to be a strong ammonia taste but I'm not sure if they give off any ammonia that could be absorbed into other cigars. Probably not an issue if it's just a couple sticks but, better safe than sorry, I guess.

Yeah, all of that sounds right. Either smoke a fresh rolled sooner... or much later. Other than that, treat me like a normal cigar.
