Is victormab a fake member profile created by a troll? Yes or no.

victormab

I answered his post too but I had my suspicions, and the more that thread grows the more "unreal" I think this guy is. It would be super sad for any real person to behave like that so my thinking is leaning towards "he's gotta be a troll, right?" He seems to fit the definition.

Wikipedia - In Internet slang, a troll (/'tro?l/, /'tr?l/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response.......

Well? He posts something that sounds ridiculous. We call him on it. He responds with insults. I mean come on. Fits the definition doesn't it? He'd have to be a pathetic ultra-obnoxious person if he's real.

OK but, think about this. The back story on this guy is, in some ways, too funny. He smokes a whole f#ckin' box of Kubas a week for years? And then he gets panties in a wad over two missing free cigars?

no - as a reformed troll and the generation that started Internet Trolling it is very hard to get away from your normal speech patterns. How this guy fails to format his text, the sentence structure, and use of specific words doesn't make him like any other member that i can place. Even with our most experienced troll, randy ,you can tell after a few posts that it is him because of how they are posting.

No.Brian hit it pretty well. For instance, I use "..." instead of "," a lot. The only way I could make a fake name and get away with it would be to make rules to change my typing pattern, IE "I'm not going to use any punctuation or capitalization." Too much effort, and you'll probably forget your own rules...then you're figured out.

    I think it's a real thing, too.

I like Oliva and Quesada (including Regius) a lot.  I will smoke anything, though.

Good points but, I'm not necessarily thinking that it's anyone in particular. And, a really good troll might incorporate text and sentence structure that is not identifiable. I'm not 100% convinced he's a troll but if he is a troll, he's a good one. If he's real, he's just pathetic.

I think he is a real person. Although I think he is over exaggerating about how many cigars he is smoking in a week to bolster his claim.

I don't think he is a troll, and i think pathetic is a strong word. When you commit so much time and money into a single vendor and meet the person you feel as though you have a connection to them. Hell i almost feel like i have a connection to Jon Huber because i have talked with him via email several times and he has done me a solid on a few different things. I am sure that if i felt that he had wronged me i might react similarly. I doubt i would have gone online to a bunch of strangers and threw a fit about it, but i am sure i would have blown off steam about it to people i knew in a similar manner.

this guy's problem is that he came to a community of people that don't know him and tried to vent and he vented about the wrong product. If this would have happened from some person at Gurkha, we would probably all be bashing the *** out of them with him. Rocky Patel, boy that guy is such a douche. Macanudo.....well that's what you get for smoking that crap.

I think he might be... I mentioned that he should stick around and get to know the clowns around here... He later responded "please don't call me a clown"... Im just sayin... either he misread it or is a long term botl heing a goober. ;) If not then it is what it is! He is more than welcome in my books... but kinda hard to start it off on a sour note.

    Same here.

And based on how many people, percentage-wise, that we've all met during our lives that have an inflated idea of their own worth and who esteem themselves highly without just cause, I say he's just one of those goofballs.

You see it on forums all the time; somebody's butt-hurt over something, and they make it their first post. I mean, how little self-awareness do they actually have? They're the kind of people who need some code written into the forum so that you have to hit "post" at least fifty times before it uploads to give them sufficient time to ask, "Do I really want to put this out there?".
