Future Forum Badges

Hey guys, how about starting a list of ideas for new badges in future. Some of my ideas might require the use of a forum member moderator to actually handle manually issuing them since these wouldn't necessarily be automated, but that's a discussion for another time.

Obviously, the Man O' War Badge. Maybe establish a couple different official levels of greatness. 

Other brand themed badges in the style of the MOW badge.

Trader badges -- complete 5 trades, 10 trades, etc., 5 blind trades

Bomber badge -- send 5 bombs that aren't retaliations (i.e. bomb someone that didn't bomb you first)

Gamer badge -- participate in the PIF, MAW, and Movie Trivia

Gang War and Secret Santa badges -- yearly badge for participating in each year's annual big game

So when someone completed the qualifications for a badge, they would have to message a moderator with the details and then they would bestow the badge. I doubt the ccom employees would be interested in handling a bunch of our nonsense on a frequent basis, but it would be a nice responsibility for the possible forum member mods.

Thoughts and other ideas? Go.

    How about the "Shizza" Badge, you get 1 if you take him out.

    From what I understand, Vanilla forum software allows for the creation of special badges but only a moderator/admin can issue them to an individual forum member. 

    The only current problem is that we're asking the Ccom mods / admin to do a lot of work with this which I don't think they're going to use up their time resources  assigning badges on a continuous basis.

    Luckily, our forums are moderated much... if at all, and if some active members are allowed to become mods, they can just focus on dupe posts, badge assigning, etc. This alone would keep them quite busy. 

    If the current admin/mods allow for this to happen, I can help create some badges.

    Ill do some digging in what can be done with vanilla.  Maybe a trading system could be implemented or a feedback system to help automate it a bit.

    I don't know vanilla but have been an IT professional for over 20 years - assume I could learn fairly quickly and willing to assist in any way needed.

    Another one that would be good is for @0patience  with the coffee mugs. I think he'll be doing other printing stuff too though but the mugs look awesome fo sho.

    Yep, him too. Before I start making more, I just want to see if the Ccom mods will allow us to use custom badges.

    If we get the green light, I can start cranking them out.

    No problem and if not they would always look really cool in our Signatures to show that we have some epic swag from the talented BORKs on here.

    OMG A badge inspired by my bookmarks!! would be amazing .!!! It would also make it really easy to see who still needs one!!! since my record keeping is atrocious.
