This is America, you can like whatever you like. I guess, I don't like when people start talking about what make a "real American" and wants his own religious freedom respected but wants Muslims to go back to their own country. He does have a good voice, though
Man does he realize poor rednecks and other white folk make up the majority of users of social welfare? Doubt it-- stay in the woods fella
Even if that is true it has what to do with the words in the song?
That is actually true, and he makes mention of it in the song. I didn't realize this is where JD got the video and went on a rant in his thread that mirrored Alan's. He does have a good voice, but I find what he is saying as divisive and insensitive.

I'm not defending this musical bozo but, the guy does not identify who he thinks needs to "go to work if you're able, instead of livin' off our dime". Why is it assumed that the guy was singing to everyone except white folks and rednecks in that particular part of his musical rant?
However, I think he's an idiot for telling Muslims, to "take your ass back home" if they wish to worship here in America. Isn't that what the pilgrims came here for? to worship? Muslims are not all terrorists. Terrorists are terrorists.

Grabbin' a bag of popcorn, a cigar and a glass fulla bourbon and settin' back to see what kinda hornets' nest this stirs up...
I'll take a shot of 'I don't care what you're doing now' Chase that one with a cold 'Screw you' When that's done, I just might wash it down With a big pitcher of 'Someone new' That blond blonde blonde At the bar bar bar See if she wants to try and un-break my heart heart heart

Oh come on now Bob, really??? True he doesn't specifically call out "white folks and rednecks".....
In the same way he doesn't specifically call out any other group of people (aside from Muslims) .....
But I'd say context is key with this fellars lyrics.
"Hell No, I won't push one for English
I just as soon hang up the phone ....... We need to lock down all the borders
Throw away the keys"
You gonna try to tell me he's referring to French-Canadians in the above lyrics? LMAO

Ok let me try this again because I edited and ended up butchering that last post and I don't want to be misunderstood.
Nope. No assumptions And, There's no context to make me know that he aimed that line ("go to work if you're able, instead of livin' off our dime") at any particular group. Right after he tells Muslims to get lost he starts in on "go to work if you're able,.... ". If you wanna' infer that he's talking to anyone or any group in particular, well, that's on you.
Who do you think he's talking to in that line? You tell me. And, you can go ahead and tell me why you think so.
As far as the lines about speaking English and closing the borders, do you infer hate? Maybe he is hateful but, you don't have to hate anybody to have opinions that include tightening up our porous borders or no appreciation for having to specifically select a language to use when you talk to a machine.

I meant to say that he WASN'T calling out anybody specifically. "White folks and rednecks" were Jim's words. Jim seemed to imply that "White folks and rednecks" were excluded by default. I was saying that this bozo wasn't excluding them.

(Alright, first off I will say that I hate this new quote system....you don't have to infer anything, it's right there in black and white. Stupid software keeps messing up my attempt at quoting you......Anywho....)
I don't know if there's a specific group of peoplehe's referring to in the "go to work" line, but I can infer that line's not directed at people "like him" based on the "Us vs. Them" tone of the lyric.
"go to work if you're able, instead of livin' off ourdime"
And I wasn't trying to infer that his "speaking English" and "closing the borders" lyrics were hateful .....
Instead I inferred his comments were directed towards hispanics (not French-Canadians as I jokingly asked you about).....since "Press 1 for English, para espanol oprima numero dos" is common on most automated phone systems.

"Us" working taxpayers vs "them" non-working layabouts. Sorry, I don't see any race included or excluded. It wasn't in the lyric. Do you see a racist in every redneck? Rednecks are not racist. Racists are racist.
I inferred that his border and English
comments were directed at those who control the borders and those
that set up answering machines. It didn't occur to me that he was directing his comments AT Hispanics. Maybe he's annoyed at Hispanics but that wasn't in the lyric.
But, Who knows what he MEANT for us to infer? Maybe he hates everybody.

It's semantics at the end of the day - "our dime". Who is the 'our' identifing with - only pissed off rednecks or all Americans (Hispanic, White, Black, Asian, and Arab)? The title and context of the song gives me an opinion with who the "our dime" references. But here's my thing - pissed off rednecks are not alone.
There are a lot of pissed off people and expressing and voicing that anger is our responsibility as citizens. Blaming one another and being divisive cannot change the root of our angst. Honestly, I think we are all mad about mostly the same issues....just haven't had the courage to talk about it WITH each other. Going only on our shared past experiences, we tend more to talking AT each other.

I know pissed off Cubans who came here legally and Mexicans and Asian and all the rest that are pissed off. I know college students that are pissed off about college tuition's and how they are paid for. I know Soldiers who are pissed off about benefits and who gets them. Everyone with the ability to read and that just doesn't ape the party line is pissed off. Everyone in legitimate need of assistance and can't get it because we throw tax money at foreign governments that don't even like us and at lazy crooks in this country, are pissed off.
There is plenty of anger to go around...how we feel it may differ but I believe in my heart that all the differences share a ROOT cause. Conversations about feelings are the key to getting to the root cause. Blaming each other and name calling creates a division that is hard to overcome. I'm not saying anyone here is doing that - I'm speaking in generalities. We are able to speak WITH the people we know and trust. We all tend to speak AT people we don't or people we think are part of OUR anger. That's normal.
I'm a black republican used to defending my views in the barbershop - and at the end most men in the shop agree with where I am coming from but had never thought about it that way before. I'm just saying that if more people from more diverse backgrounds were able to have a conversation on what we are really angry at - we would all see that it starts and ends with government spending. And I mean a conversation on what is angering us in our daily lives. Not what is angering because I heard this was happening or my local politician said that was happening. I am truly express what is angering us in our daily lives we could figure this S H I T out.
