Warning: PM mistake will make conversation public.

I've stumbled upon a problem with the new forum layout.
You must be certain to click on the
messages tab on someones profile page to be sure you are starting a
private conversation.
After you click on someone's profile
page, you immediately see an open and inviting dilogue box waiting
for you. You might start typing in it assuming you are creating a
private message but, you are not. You are actually typing onto their
profile page in a non-private way. It's similar to posting onto
someone's wall on Face Book.
I have read conversations between
members that are obviously intended to be private including personal
information that does not need to be available online for the entire
internet to see. I hope everyone is aware of the need to protect
ones personal info.
I sent PM s to the parties involved.
(I also contacted @Krebsie and he quickly deleted these messages. Thanks @Krebsie.)
And, if you happen to feel like the
exposure of certain aspects of your personal info is of no
consequence, please do your best to respect/protect the privacy of other
members who may wish to guard their information as closely as
possible.

Yeah, the profile page has a comment section kinda like a "wall" that is visible to everyone.LLA - Lancero Lovers of America0

Yes, @Bob-Luken, that IS good to know. I see I've made that mistake a buncha times already.
Hey, @Krebsie, is there any way to simplify that aspect of PMs? For this oldfart, at least, it's really confusing. Thanks in advance....0 -
Bumping this. There are many public addresses right now, just an FYI."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give". Winston Churchill.

Another way to message is of course by going to "inbox" in the menu and create a new message. Then there's no way that you post it on the recipient's profile as opposed to a private message.LLA - Lancero Lovers of America3

Bumping for those who have recently posted to the public wall instead of a private PM."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give". Winston Churchill.

I disagree. It will be totally private, put whatever you want on your wall, we won’t look....I promise!Cigars were made to be smoked, whiskey was made to be drank and women were made to be loved. The only thing I try to age is myself.4

With every electronic device out there spying on us this just makes sense.
