Gonna Be Offline For A While

I'm not telling ya'all this for sympathy, but explaining why you're probably not going to hear from me for a while.  For those of you that don't know, I'm a disabled Veteran.  The VA Hospitals, in all of their wisdom, have performed a total of 15 hernia operations.  To say the least, they really put the screws to me.  I have a ton of mesh in me, literally.  All of that mesh has caused a lot of nerve damage and cut off blood flow to certain body parts.  I've agreed to an exploratory surgery to try to alleviate some of the pain.  I take the kind of pain medications that a stage 4 cancer patient would take.  To say the least, life can get a little trying at times.  If you would, please send out a few prayers my way.  I have to go and have an evaluation done first and they will decide from there.  Here's the possible downside to all of this, I could actually loose "the boys" due to lack of blood flow.  Like I said before, please shoot me a prayer if you don't mind.  I go in next Tuesday to New Orleans and we'll go from there.  Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy a cigar to two while at the hospital!!!!  lol

    I'm sure it will go fine.  It's hard at times to put a lot of faith in the VA medical services, but when you're on a budget, sometimes it's your only option.  Plus, at least this way, it will be on file.

    Please don't anyone take this post as having a "hidden agenda".  All that I'm doing is freaking out a little and need the support of my BOTL that I have truly come to like.  I don't have ANY family down here in Louisiana, which is the way that I wanted it.  Ya'alls opinions mean the world to me and I know that everything that you write is from the heart.  Thank you all very much for your thoughts/prayer/and positive remarks.  It truly does take some of the edge off of what they might/might not do.

    Prayers and positive thoughts are going out for you, Joe. I can empathize with you in this matter and I sincerely wish for a successful outcome.

    Holla ... I would love to come cheer ya up and share a stogie. Keep in mind I work retail so I will show up at weird hours. I will make the staff conform to my visiting hours... B)

    Dr. Martin is a VERY good doctor at the Alexandria VA Hospital.  Worse case scenario, they have to do an exploratory (very long rehab).  Or, they could decided to do nothing, and just keep me jacked up on pain killers for the rest of my life.  Dr. Martin made me aware that I already have ANOTHER hernia.  If they decided to operate to fix it, there are major complications that could occur.  So, I'll probably choose the pain, unless they give me news of another procedure.  I just hate the waiting!

    Everything has been "canceled" until they can get the "specialist" in that they want.  At least that's what they're saying.  Please continue with the prayers, somethings got to give eventually.
