Hydroponics and fish/plant selection variances by region. What would you grow?

Here in the South East I have decided on Tilapia as my fish of choice as they are suited to a warmer environment. As for plant selection? The sky is the limit for experimentation purposes.

I think perhaps vining plants that love water, such as cucumbers and possibly a few lettuce plants, to start.

Hydroponics has really taken off and here in So Calif I've seen several company's use what is called a Tower Garden and are growing some of the best tasting strawberries I've ever had. If I had a unit that is the crop I would try :)httpss-media-cache-ak0pinimgcom236xdf499edf499eb231945e6113f2a3a13dc7834ejpg

     Why not build your own?

I as of now have two units in the completion stages in my backyard with two more still in the design stages to be constructed from food grade used IBC containers very soon.

     Pride in craftsmanship.

If I build it, I seem to enjoy it more.
