Hiccups

Why do I always get the hiccups during a cigar? I've noticed about three out of five times I get the hiccups.
Do any of you vet's know why

Retro hale is where you pull the smoke into your mouth, then blow it out the nose

Retrohaling is a huge aspect of the total flavor profile, but with certain sticks it makes me sneeze or hiccup. But it can simply be caused by the nicotine as well. Do you eat before you smoke?

Retrohaling is when you blow the smoke out your nose. I always blow part out the nose and part out of the mouth. Some people have a hard time learning how to do it without inhaling. I got a buddy still can't do it after years of cigar smoking. But you do pick up different taste thru the nose than just using the mouth.

But the hiccups could be caused be just gulping in some air by mistake. It's almost impossible not to inhale once in a while.

Not so often maby once or twice. Didn't think of that

Check out a show (or the book) called Your Inner Fish. Hiccups are a leftover from when we used to "breath" water. Very cool info there.

I occasionally get the hiccups during a cigar also. Try smoking slower. More time between draws. I tend to smoke way too quickly. Savor the flavors and aromas.
