Question about Cigar Federation

Rockethead26Rockethead26 Posts: 296 ✭✭✭✭
So, I purchase a special sampler for newbies from Cigar Federation on 5/24 and pay with PayPal.
They say they generally ship within 3-4 days, so after 4 days and no shipping notice, I send an email with the order number and ask for a status. Their website says how they generally answer all emails within 4 hours. I wait a few more days and still no response so I check their site for a phone number. They don't have one. Well that's new. I send another email on the 3rd. Nothing.

Is this a one off problem, or have others here had issues with CF?

I have never purchased anything from them but would hope that it is a one off problem. Try @catfishbluezz. He may be able to help.

At this point, I'd be in touch with PayPal if it were me. Get your money back from PayPal just like with a credit card.

Maybe hitting CF in the wallet will wake 'em up....  >:)

I've had nothing but good service from them but, of course, nothing like the service at cigar.com. my guess is its a one off problem.

by the way I'm driving through flagstaff in about three hours.

I know that @Wylaff had shipping issues with them, but they made it right in the end. They had a big singles cigar sale over memorial weekend and could be backed up. A simple email reply from them seems the least they could do.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

I have purchased from them and never had an issue. I never used paypal though. But I am starting to use it more for purchases since my CC's always seems to have fraud issues. My area has turned into skimmer city for CC's now.

Thanks! It was a different email than what they suggest as their best contact method on the web site. I sent another,

Are you going through Albuquerque? I will be at Sandia casino working, but would enjoy meeting you. Apologize for thread jacking.

Let's just say I will never purchase anything from them and leave it at that.

With very few exceptions I use PayPal for anything I buy online. For a couple reasons - the first being that I can get my money back on disputed items and secondly because all of the charges end up on my rewards credit card which is doubly good for me.

But I've had some instances when using PP that the vendor's site then sees me as a guest, and doesn't have an account for me with order history and/or tracking.  Any credit card would give you the same benefits Maaahhty.

Like @Guitarded said, they had a massive sale and I'd guess they don't have the staff to respond.  I do like CFed's selection and sales though.

Yer right, Pietro, but by using PayPal I don't have to enter my card number or shipping info, etc. every time. And since I'm pathologically lazy, any small saving of energy is meaningful, n'est-ce pas?   B)

Heard back this morning from CF and the original email address I used. They had technical difficulties, apologized and shipped. All is well and they are forgiven.

I did have a huge issue with them, where it took two weeks for them to send out my shipment. I had purchased a hat from Ezra Zion as well, and when Kyle and Hoover got their half of the order and saw the date, THEY were the ones to make amends, not Cfed. Ezra Zion sent me a couple sticks that were no readily available yet, with a hand written note apologizing for the entire situation.

Cfed responded to my emails for 2 weeks with a "You'll get it when you get it" attitude.
