Gum

I know this is a weird question but I am trying to stop dipping and I chew gum instead. My question is most gum today changes flavor profiles of food and drink and cigars. I find if I smoke a cigar within an hour of chewing gum it really changes tastes, does anyone else have this issue and or suggest a gum that does not put my taste buds into a frenzy.
