Trip to Tucson

MartelMartel Posts: 3,306 ✭✭✭✭
Where to smoke?  I'm staying at the FIL's girlfriend's house and not sure what's allowed.  Arrive this Thursday and leave the following Wednesday and don't have much planned except some pool time, doing what the kids want (we have access to horses-joy), and maybe a trip up to the observatory or the mission.  The other trip I want to do is the ICBM museum, but not sure that we'll head toward Green Valley.  Outside of the Titan museum those are the only two Tucson places I feel I haven't visited from my list.  What we've done in the past:

Air Museum
Desert Museum (like 4 times)
Saquaro NP
Mt. Lemmon
Sabino Canyon
Colossal Cave
Sonoita Wineries
Kartchner Caverns
Tombstone
Drive through the Indian Reservation
Saw a mule trail in the desert littered with empty gallon milk jugs
Saw a border runner drug bust with multiple choppers and ICE
Ghost Towns galore in the 4x4 truck

So smokes and stuff to do suggestions?

I like Oliva and Quesada (including Regius) a lot.  I will smoke anything, though.

I have lived here 4 years and only done half of your list. The Titan museum was cool, been 20 years since I did it, about a mile from the house. Had an interview this morning but I just checked my schedule and there isnt a damn thing on it. Anthony's has 3 cigar shops scattered around Tucson, depending on where you are there should be something not too far. I'll pm my number if you want to do some refined gentleman stuff.
    Are you bringing golf clubs?

Yeah, no golf clubs.  Sold those about 8 years ago since I never played--it was too expensive for a newlywed even though I hung onto those clubs for about 9 years hoping to get back into it.  Not sure if the FIL has any still, either.  Plus 90 degrees or more every day I'm there...rounds of 18 aren't likely in the mix.  I might bring my discs and try out a disc golf course.  There's a couple in the area.

Probably won't make it up to the Phoenix area, that looks to be where Fineash is.

I'll definitely go for the Sonora Dog!  Looked amazing when I googled it.

@dirtdude Randy, I've got your number; you gave it to me back in June.  Once I nail down the schedule I might shoot you a message.  I'm not too refined, nor am I too debauched.  But I can visit in either world and make out all right.

Do the Anthony shops have lounges or are they just retailers?

I'm not really sure where I'll be.  I'll have a car available much of the time, but don't know the address where I'm staying.  FIL used to live off of Valencia past the casino toward Ajo Hwy.  It was in the backyard that we saw the migrant trails.  Before that, he was on the other side of town off of E. Tanque Verde somewhere.  But now I have no idea.  It makes it hard to plan.

I think Anthonys are lounges but they are more east and north. Tiny's is a little sports bar on Ajo out in that area that has a covered smoking patio if you just  want to break away for a smoke. My dance card is wide open til I get a call, had a good interview this morning, said they would call this week but a 10 year background check takes time, you would think I was in law enforcement or border patrol instead of an old dirtwh0re

Well, we're staying way out East, nearly in Saguaro NP.  Rode horses today.
