buried posts?

Why are some posts buried and you have to click on them and other posts are not?
And why is this even put into the forum?

I click on stuff to read the posts, not to have to "This post is buried, click here to view."

Now dammit, this is getting ridiculous.
Took me 3 times to post this.

    Never heard of that before. May have to vote up those posts to see them, sounds like a terrible system.

    It shows a line (like the first one) of the poster and the date. 
    When you hover your mouse over it, it shows to click to show the rest.
    No idea why the posts are buried, but that is messed up.
