Fire Dept cook out and parade.
Weather turned nice and it's actually a great day.

And when a tractor is involved in the parade, you know your town is rural.

Is this held by fire/rescue/law enforcement nation wide? I went to town this afternoon and they had shut down a major 4 lane road by a BBQ restaurant (that I went to). Police everywhere, firetrucks etc. It's not a small town though, at least they didn't close main street like they do for German fest!

It's good to see communities doing this wether they're big or small, lets people know America matters!

We have a volunteer fire dept.
Every year, the local businesses donate the hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings and the fire dept puts on the cook out. Main Street, all of the 4 blocks of it, are shut down for the parade, along with the back streets for the parade people.

It is the biggest event of our town.
Even the local mini mart gives away fountain drinks and deli food.
For about 4 hours, pretty much the entire town and a lot of people from the outlying communities are on Main Street.
