Need to season a new humidor already showing 68%?

Just purchased/received a Prestige Import Group - The Valencia Digital Glass Top Cigar Humidor, and the included digital hygrometer already reads 68%. This is without any seasoning on my part. Is this really possible, or should I be suspicious of the hygrometer reading and season the humidor anyway?

    Make sure the hydro is calibrated, then season it for a a few weeks. Suggest using this so you don't  damage your humi by over saturation. 15 days and it is done.
