I'm good with Chicago again since it's already September. But feel we should consider other locations in the future.

It seems like for this year Chicago works.  Are we welcome at Casa or do we need to find a new venue?

Did something happen last year that would cause us not to be welcome this year..or are we saying we need to reach out for a heads up before planning?

Don't know where this 'news' originated, but the story is that Sam, the owner, wasn't happy with the amount of $$$ we spent on cigars.  But it was at least a grand, and probably closer to $1500, based on some of us talking who know who bought what.  It may have just been that we didn't all have the purchases recorded as Ccom folks because the Casa employees weren't asking - I know they never asked me, and I didn't think to tell them.

@Trident would know more, and I hope Roman isn't too busy to get us back in.

i had a blast in chicago with you all, and that B&M was pretty slick....but man was it COLD.

would love to see y'all again this year, will be keeping an eye on this thread for a final decision on the dates & location.
How can you say Chicago is cold when it's the same in OH?

I don't even know why we're talking about this; of course it will be at Casa in Chicago, early part of December.
    yeah, OH is COLD too.

let's have a winter herf in the bahamas or something

I know I spent at least 250 while there. Hopefully we are welcomed back. No one asked me either when I checked out.

Life is too short to smoke bad cigars!!!

    same.
spent ~200 at casa over the course of the weekend and the employees never asked or said anything when ringing me up at the register.

well that's a bummer if true.
hopefully we are welcome back since casa had a good sized space that could fit the entire group.

but if not, and they don't want our business then p¡ss on 'em.  plenty of other shops in the chicago area that i'd be happy to patronize.  hard part will be finding a spot that can fit the whole group.

And from what I heard, Rodney spent around $600.

Whoever is going to be dealing w/ Sam to get us back in, Roman, cough, cough, needs to know this stuff.

i wonder if bigg's would give us a "group rate" for the 2nd floor for the weekend?

i'm not too keen on paying "admission" but this place looks cool as hell.....

Jiunn and I went there in December of 2014, high prices and hoity toity attitude, very quiet and BORING. We would get kicked out in less than an hour.
The building reminds me of the dinner scene in Blues Brothers.

Sorry for my absence.  I have no doubt that we are welcome at Casa.  If we want to do Casa this year for ease we can.  But I would suggest that we make this a rotating event and start hitting some areas like the west coast, Florida, and also PA.  The dates can also change as we discussed.  MAybe something in October or late september may be better.  but if we want to curb the discussion for moving it this year, then we should start planning a weekend.  We can have Joe contact sam like he usually does.  Thoughts?

I'd suggest either the weekend before Thanksgiving, or the weekend after.

And thanks for helping out, Roman!

Weekend before Thanksgiving and after would be no goes for me as its our 9 day gun deer season.

I'm in for casa this year and I like the rotating place idea as well.  Any time after thanksgiving and before December 15 and my annoying ass will be there.  Bill will more than likely be attending as well.
