Humidor beads

The humidity in my house during the summer is around 75% and my humidor seams to follow suit. Do beads for humidors work to keep the humidity constant? I’ve read that they will expel moisture if needed and absorb excess moisture if it’s to high. Is this true and if so what is the best brand?

If you want to play scientist, you can make unscented silica cat litter do the same job as "cigar beads" for way way less, (It's the exact same stuff) But I say screw that crap and spend some money on Bovedas. That schidt is real science. I recommend the 65% Bovedas. .10 -
I agree @Bob_Luken, I use Kitty Litter in one humi along with Boveda's to suck up the excess moisture, KLitter RH is closer to 70 which is more than I want. When it's gone I won't get it again.A little dirt never hurt5

If your KL has too much moisture in it, you can dry it out, Randy. I'd bet w/ your dry climate you could leave it out in an open container for a couple days and be golden. Some years when I make the transition for winter/adding moisture to KL/cigars into springtime/having less moisture in the box, I'll pop my KL containers into the microwave... steams the moisture right out of the beads w/ no ill effects."I could've had a Mi Querida!"
