Vacation contest!

cbuckcbuck Milford, CTPosts: 5,171 ✭✭✭✭✭
On vacation for 2.5 weeks! Visited 3 shops today! Have one more to visit in Vero Beach, and the Corona store at Sand Lake next week! And a stop  JR Cigars in Selma, North Carolina on my way home! How many cigars will I buy while on vacation? This isn’t about how many I will smoke, because I already lost track of that! One guess per person, and winner will be whoever is closest without going over. Will arrive home on the 13th, and ship by the following weekend!

Is this how many you'll buy or how many will be left when you get home?

    Enjoy your vacation.
I'll gladly bomb you Tuesday for an Opus today.

Keeping with the spirit of Halloween I'm gonna guess 31 which is probably way too low but I enjoy seeing others' mailboxes destroyed. Enjoy your vacation!

I have to wonder if you can smoke more cigars on vacation than usual. Enjoy the time off.

Take the number already smoked, 'X'.
Divide by pie. Apple pie cut into 3.14 huge slices.
Subtract 22/7 from 'X' and then do a jig at poolside.
We should now be left only with the number you bought to be counted for the contest.
This number is therefore 44. However, we can't forget to factor in the 16.5 days of vacation. If we add this number to the total and then subtract it at the same time according to the quantum physics principle of matrix mechanics inspired by Paul Durac, we will find that the cigars in question both exist and do not exist, much like Schroedinger's Cat. We therefore must finally factor in a conscious observer to ensure the cigars are in fact there, but this opens up the door to the measurement problem where an atom may function as both a particle and a wave.

And thus, the number has to be 44, or not at all. :)
