How to sell collection

Thank you for your time, I am currently getting a divorce, the court stated that I have to sell all viable assets and split the proceeds. What is the best way to sell a cigar collection that I have amassed over 30 years. I have a walk in Humidor that is kept at 65/65. Any Ideas? to give you an idea of what I have the cigars range from LG short batch 1 to a complete Partagas 150 Humidor (150 cigars)

There was once a woman whose husband ran off with his secretary.  He phoned his wife and told her to sell his vintage Porsche and send him half the proceeds.  She did exactly as he requested; sold it for $100 and sent him $50.

Depending on how far away you live, I'll give you $100 for everything.

The problem is, finding someone to purchase and have it shipped.
Most won't trust to pay up front, until a person has established some trust.

EBay or one of those places possibly, but you can't sell tobacco on eBay.

If you were someone I had trust in, I'd probably be interested in the Partagas 150, but I wouldn't pay what you think you should get.
And you aren't likely to get anywhere near what you think you should.

Without a good trade record, very few people on most cigar forums will be serious about buying.
Even craigslist, you will probably find very few buyers and most those will lowball you.

You could start by posting your location; we have members all over the country and maybe an interested party would visit you and document your inventory and its condition.

There's no way you can remove your cigars from the list of assets?

Dang, sorry for your troubles.  I think you'd have better luck selling in lots rather than the enitre collection in one shot.  Maybe grouping by manufactor in lots of three to five boxes each?  Is the stock insured?  How can she, or her lawyers prove  net worth of the collection?
Hey, you gonna eat the rest of that corndog?

BTW just a piece of advice.

If you have CC's no judge could force you to sell them. They are only allowed for consumption in the US not for resale. It is illegal. Unless they are pre embargo CC's.

You can only give CC's away as gifts.

There's your loophole. Your attorney should have thought of this. Everything you have is a CC. Collection saved.

I will take 4 boxes of the crustiest shiiit stix you have for my fee.

    PM for addy

Who knows, the temptation might be just too great.

More than likely your wife and her lawyer will want you get them appraised before you start selling them.

Cigars are insured, If I lose some money selling them there is nothing anyone can do about that. I am okay with giving her fair share. After all what man in jail wouldn't give everything he owned to be free, I have to give half.

Damn, man. The worst part of your collection is your soon to be ex-wife.

there is some cigar groups on Facebook that are for sales. C.A.S.T. is one. You can ship any where you want. There is no law against it. Good luck, impressive collection.

@Robert_DeMarco   If you can put out an inventory list with a price you might sell some here.  Look up "@bigshizza sale"  and see what things go for here.

I would take a chance if the price was right and post the results.
