The Salt Test Woes

Hey folks I’m on a quest for perfect temperature and RH in my humidors and decided to pop the salt test on my two generic digital hygrometers (I bought them at Amazon, don’t remember the brand name. I guess that was my first mistake.)
Anyway, I sprinkled a little bit of distilled water into a capful of table salt and set it in the middle of a small Tupperware container. I placed both hygrometers with the probe facing the capful of salt mixture on either side a couple of inches away and put the lid on. I left it that way for about two days and they are both reading about 79%RH and 71 degrees.
Does this mean that my hygrometers are off by 4%RH? The temperature reading seems spot on. Or has the solution not settled yet and will most likely bring the RH down to 75 with more time?
