I have a few boxes of cigars in my Rubbermaid.
I just kept them in the wooden box they came in and keep the lid open.
You guys keep them in the box or take them out of the box when storing in the Rubbermaid?
Welcome back to the forum. I remember you from a year ago. You said you went to cuba and you said you were planning to buy some cubans. You asked us a bunch of beginner storage questions back then. Fast forward to a year later, and you're asking us beginner storage questions again. That doesn't add up.
I apologize for being nosey. Call me curious.
When did you actually start storing cigars?
Did you buy any Cubans while there?
And if you did, how have you been storing them?
I'm guessing that maybe you didn't get any cigars in Cuba, or just a few, and you smoked them and never needed to store any cigars at that time, but now you have bought some RPs and AFs, and now you need to check back in with us to ask us some more questions.
Did I guess right?
1.No apology necessary
2. I DID buy two boxes plus a few singles, and a few humitube cigars when I was in Cuba. It had been years since I smoked any cigars. And when I did I would buy one at a time so I didnt store any. These Cubans I bought....well, I really wasnt impressed. Many of them were plugged (I think thats what they call it), dense spots that make it hard to draw. They all looked great but werent all that. I gave quite a few away as well. I really didnt smoke that many of them. Work kept me busy , 12-16 hours a day 7 days a week as well. I started off by keeping them in the rubbermaid with 65% Boveda packs. Well, changed jobs after a quarter century and I have more time at home. And a new neighbor who smokes cigars. I fired up a few more of the Cubans recently. I started rolling them on the table gently to break up and plugs. And I read where many other smokers have found Dominican and Honduran cigars that are much better than the Cubans. So I ordered a few from JRs, and ordered a few more, and ordered more today. So now I'm getting more into it. So yes I did buy Cubas and have been storing them in the rubbermaid with 65% packs with the lids on the boxes open. If I remembered I would open the rubbermaid every other week or so for a few moments to get some fresh air in.
3. I'm not a young guy and my memory sucks so maybe I asked similar questions a year ago.
4. I would of thought keeping the boxes open in the rubbermaid would be ideal to let the moisture in
5. how did this turn into a toilet seat discussion ?
