Computer tech question

Here's a question for you tech savvy guys.

I recently bought a USB 3.0 docking station and it's not being recognized by two different computers. Will a USB 1.0 or 2.0 computer recognize a USB 3.0 device? I know they're backward compatible, but forward compatible?

No, especially a docking station, you need a computer with a USB 3.0 port to take advantage of a USB 3.0 docking station or device.

Thanks, Chris. I figured it might be why it's not working. At least I know it should work when I get around to building my next computer. Good thing I have an old docking station at home somewhere.
