Cigar Oasis Plus/XL shows 73% humidity, Xykar hygrometer shows 61%

I am currently using the Whynter CWC-351DD Cooler Humidor, which has 6 shelves.

I have the hygrometer all the way on the bottom, and the 6 shelves are up top. The hygrometer is half way, 3 shelves up. As the title says, major discrepancy as far as % humidity.

Should i place the Oasis Plus humidification system on top or the top is fine.

Please advise :)

Thanks in advance!!

I meant to ask "should I place the hygrometer up top, somewhere in the middle or just leave it as is, on the bottom?"

Do you trust either hygrometer reading to be accurate? If so, why?

Put the Xikar at the top and see if they match.

I really dont, thats why i asked, what tips do the real connoisseurs have?

Change the place of the Xykar one, change the place of the humidification device, etc. I'm willing to try everything

I'd start by putting the hygrometers as close as possible. Then, I'd calibrate the Xikar. Then, I'd find a buyer for the Oasis and switch to Boveda packs.

Really? I thought these oasis are what i need for the coolidor. Thanks for the advice!!

Technically, yours is a wineador; a coolidor is made from a cooler. You can use an Oasis but it adds a level of complication that not many want especially when it also adds expense.

Put the humidifier at the bottom. Put one hygrometer on the bottom and one at the top.

Thank you all for your advice! So glad I posted here; I was getting annoyed with my setup, something needed to change!

Like Shawn said one at top and bottom because humidity rises.
