I never assumed that Churchill smoked Davidoff cigars and that being the reason for the naming a cigar after him. What did he smoke?

According to Google, he favored two Cuban brands above the rest: Romeo Y Julieta and La Aroma de Cuba. The size (vitola) we have all come to know well enough, named after him and used by many companies were not named 'Churchill' at the time (obvious). Churchill didn't spend much time in Cuba, perhaps a few months with the British Army. Back in those days, most cigar smokers had a tendency to stick with one cigar they favored, but Winston Churchill was known to smoke a variety of sizes.
I got most of that information from here, it's a good read: https://www.egmcigars.com/blogs/the-cuban-cigars-blog-by-egm-cigars/cigar-smoking-icons-winston-churchill

Oh come on, it was funny.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
