This was my dad and his brothers favorite growing up but seems discontinued in the maduro wrapper. Any suggestions of something similar? He keeps asking if I can find it online...
Well, these things happen, some cigars get discontinued. And we get this same type of question. Bottom line, taste is subjective and this question is unanswerable, but maybe, just maybe they discontinued these cigars because the popularity of Mexican wrapper leaf made it scarce, expensive, and not worth the investment to put it into these particular budget level cigars anymore. It's just a theory I made up in the past two minutes, because, my google search leads me to believe these cigars were Honduran rolled, but entirely of Mexican grown leaf.
My advice is to search out cigars with Mexican San Andreas wrapper leaf, or buy them a sampler of cigars with Mexican San Andreas wrapper leaf. Many online retailers have bundles featuring San Andreas wrapper leaf. It's my favorite wrapper leaf. I highly recommend Jericho Hill by Crowned Heads cigar co.

A decent cheap cigar with San Andres wrapper is Teamo. The two I had were better than I expected.
