Choosing a new cigar

We all have a country, region, wrapper, or vitola we enjoy, perhaps as a favorite.
When browsing for something new to try, do you find the cigar’s band design attracts your curiosity or has an influence to your choice of a cigar?

I look at how strong it might be. I do have some milder ones for the morning, but I usually like the fuller cigars.
I browse the what ya smoking threads. Pretty sure no one but @VegasFrank is a paid shill.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.
@Bob_Luken 's head just exploded
My favorite cigar list here
To answer the OP's question... I like cigar bands; sometimes it's the beautiful art, sometimes it's the band's simplicity that attracts. But the band never has input into the buying decision.
I know what tobacco's I enjoy, and I know which factories I enjoy the work from. Bands and art work great to catch the eye, but it ultimately comes down to what's in it, and where is it from.
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...
Answer me this @MickeyD_1... based on the shape of Idaho, how can there be a NE Idaho?
!
Ok, north central. .
Damn it, now I have the theme to Bad News Bears in my head.

I know, You're a big dog and I'm on the list.
Let's eat, GrandMa. / Let's eat GrandMa. -- Punctuation saves lives
It'll be fine once the swelling goes down.
I have seen Stranger Things. He lives in the upside down place.
I never knew the Bad News Bears but I do love me some Bizet.
Wouldn't that be considered Central Idaho?
Kind of actually in Montana.
Salmon River used to be some good fishing.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
Oh yeah, the question.
Construction and wrapper.
Visually, I like a cigar that looks right.
Not all mucked up, like some crappy cheap cigars.
There are certain tobaccos I know I like and certain ones that I can tolerate in the filler of binder, but not the wrapper.
More often than not, I buy a couple, to see how they are. If they suck, I don't buy them again.

Some cigar bands are indeed pretty bad @ss but wouldn't affect buying choice(s).
Things are about to get interesting...
I tried the Ave Maria and manowar partly due to the bands. Also because of the reviews. Generally I go by wrapper and then binder/filler.
Trapped in the People's Communist Republic of Massachusetts.
I don't know what you're talking about.
I go brand not band. Padron? Yes. AJ? Yes. Then I go country. Nicaragua. Then I go wrapper. Connecticut? Probably not. Then I go strength. Light? Medium? Probably not.
When all else fails, I go recommendations. Did @EgoBoundary recommend it? I'm buying it. Is @rsherman24 smoking it? Pass.
Then I go foot band. As that fart smeller @peter4jc once said, I've never had a bad cigar that had an orange foot band.
Done.
Bands play little into my buying decision, but I hate cigars that have huge bands so I tend to avoid them.
Price, filler, wrapper, binder, and availability.
Manufacturer/blender, wrapper, binder, and then filler. Bands/boxes has zero impact on buying, although I don't particularly care for goofy, corny or gimmicky bands.
just bought some cigars based solely on the band, it has a crow on it and they have a special spot in my heart, as do rats and mice. Someone should make a cigar with mice on it, I'd buy a box.
I’m a sucker for Ravens and other corvids.
You've got the corvid? There's a vaccine for that...
I started reading and figured he was rooting for the Ravens...
