So I posted the other day I got a beginners fly fishing set and Rodger decided I needed more accessories and cigars! I can’t thank you enough. I know it has been said many times but you guys are the best. I wish that people who think everything is so bad in the world today could just look at our forum for a bit. Would change their mind in a heartbeat!

Very nice!
Awesome! I agree wholeheartedly…learn to tie.
Those are some great gifts from a generous man.

Great hit.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.
Always wanted to learn how to handle a fly rod ever since watching A river runs through it.
Same arm motion as driving a nail. You’re basically casting the line, not the fly at the end, and the rod does all the work. Just a smooth cyclic transference of kinetic to potential to kinetic energy.
I enjoy watching folks fly fishing, it is very peaceful and relaxing.

Got to be careful though as it can become addictive. I've got five rods, three vests, 16 books on fly tying, and loads of feathers, furs, hooks, threads, wire, beads, foam, and other assorted tying material. If you fly fish you become a fish hunter not just a fisherman. You have to learn to read the water, read the aquatic insects, tie an assortment of knots in really fine mono and the best thing is that you never quite master it. You are constantly learning and it is fun.
So essentially you become a master baiter.
