We’re honored to have worked with Kyle Gellis and the rest of the Warped team to craft another exclusively different pipe tobacco: Midsommar will be available Wednesday, August 2nd only at Smokingpipes. A surprisingly bold blend of 2019 Canadian Brights, 2014 White Burley, 2018 Izmir, and 2019 Basma Orientals, this singular summertime blend captures the season’s more rustic character with a rich, heady flavor and aroma that’s well-suited to enjoyment outdoors and in the company of friends.

    Toast of Texas is the current year (2023) version of a KBV classic called “Turkey and Dressing”. For 2023, it uses matured bright Virginia with double toasted cubed Burley and light smattering of red Virginia ‘fish’ style flake. The burley is cased with Dark Rum and a light top note of vanilla-marshmallow keeps things cozy.

    Watch City is releasing their Santa's Sack Christmas blend today either at 3 pm Eastern.

    They'll also have some Wessex Curly Block and Gold Brick soon, hopefully at about the same time to be able to combine shipping.

    "Samuel Gawith's Burnt Ends flake is a unique take on a Full Virginia flake that marries together a variety of Virginia tobaccos via heat compression. What results is a dense and dark flake that captures the deeper, richer notes of an aged Full Virginia mixture without needing to be aged and offers tasting notes of tangy caramelized citrus, earthy, hay, and a touch of spice." Ernie expects this to be available on Watch City's site sometime this weekend along with other Samuel Gawith tobaccos, this one comes in 8 oz packages.

    Here's some info from Gawith & Hoggarth in response to some questions:

    They are not scraps as such. Due to the very old presses we use and the old cutting machines we use, the cakes (large blocks of pressed tobacco before they are cut into flakes) are not all a completely square uniform flat shape when formed. The four "sides" cannot go in the normal flake cutter and so have to be trimmed off. Some of this used to be broken down to be re-used and re-pressed again into another cake, some would go into our pensioner's mix......however, this all takes man power and time. As FVF is so popular and demand so high, after some research and testing, we decided to do these "side ends" as a stand alone product, hence "Burnt Ends".

    Whilst not limited or special release as such, the whole way these Burnt Ends are formed, means that you only get a small amount from each batch of FVF made.

    I am not aware that Burnt Ends are being sold for a higher price than normal 8oz boxes of FVF but pricing and marketing are up to Laudisi. We are simply the manufacturer but aside from the final slicing into flake, the same processes and labour and packaging goes into Burnt Ends as it does for normal FVF.

    Just got an email that Cob Plug (1792 in plug form) is in stock at Smoking Pipes. Looks like they have Samuel Gawith tobacco in stock including the burnt ends. The site is being hammered right now so I can't even pull up the Cob Plug to see if it's still in stock.

    The first blend in the Sword & Board series. At one third Latakia, this is on the comfy side of medium for Latakia smokers. Generous portions of steamed Virginia, toasted Burley, black cavendish, and Danish toppings make for a smooth smoke. Very similar to Sillem’s Black.

    A new, refined Sansepolcro will be released as a limited edition. It will be available at Watch City in limited quantities on Tuesday at 6:00 PM Eastern and will also be released on SmokingPipes at the same time and likely other sites when it's released.
