Piebald Deer

Blessed to see this beautiful animal on my way out of the woods today, they’re not protected in my state, but I don’t think I could ever kill one. Too many deer out there for me to take her. I won’t shame anyone who would though, to each their own.

How old is it? Looks like a fawn to me.

I had a weird encounter earlier in the summer with a doe and young twin fawns. I had to slow down in this neighborhood to let the three of them decide whether to finish crossing the sharp curve in the road or to go back into the woods. A couple of weeks go by, and I see them again in the open lot at the same spot and they'd grown a bit. I have to slow down to make the curve as I slowly accelerated one of the fawns comes bounding toward me. I sped up just to get away quicker and hopefully get her to stop coming toward the road. Mama doe probably thought,.. "Now I know which is the dumb one" I hope it has since developed a healthy fear of automobiles.

When I see them coming towards the road I’ll lay down on the horn. It usually scares them towards the other direction.

LOL I would have but it was 6:45AM, and it's a subdivision with houses 30 to 80 feet apart but there's this one corner that has a wooded area that they came out of and several other wooded spots like that nearby.

I guess I need some deer whistles for general purposes, but I don't think they would work under 30 MPH in this particular spot.

I'm usually on foot in the woods when I see deer.

I’m was walking out from setting up some cameras when I came across this one. Hopefully I’ll catch a clear photo on my cams one day.

We have a little critter down here called the Coues whitetail, not much bigger than a German shepherd, draws hunters from all around due to their elusiveness.

    A little dirt never hurt

I've hunted those, got me a ten point rack, not much bigger spread than a softball.

They are ok, at least as far as I remember.

The seller keeps lowering the price, I think he's motivated to sell.
