RaspberryPi or Arduino Temp/humidity controller for Humidor

I've done a search and all I've been able to find is a thread from 2014 with a bunch of dead links.

Has anyone here made their own temp and humidity controller for a humidor from a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino?

I'm making a humidor out of a dead wine fridge. I've removed the compressor and I hope to put in a thermoelectric unit to modulate the temp. I'd like to make a controller and I'm looking at the Pi or Arduino to do that.

The dead wine fridge I got for free...

Any help or guidance would be appreciated

What kind of climate do you live in and what is the climate where it will be stored?

I live in Central Texas. I keep the house at 73 and humidity is usually normal (about 40-50%) in the house.

I know what I'm looking to do is more on the overkill side. I am just really curious if anyone else has done it, as it's something I am very interested in doing.

Wine fridge will do just fine with Bóvedas.

I would say that it's not overkill, it's just kill. Once your fridge comes up to proper Rh and you fill it with properly humidified smokes, it won't need the active system any longer. It also won't need temp control in your air conditioned house.

I use an inkbird and a water tub with a plastic fan blowing on it for my wooden tower, but in that plastic box, you're gonna grow mold unless you also have a dehumidification system.

However, if you're looking to build the better mousetrap, you'll have more fun doing it with a nice wooden humidor.

there must be groups out there dedicated to those processors that you could get help with humidity/temp control, if it is a fun project I would head in that direction.

I've never had raspberry pi but custard and pumpkin are favorites of mine.
