I have the opportunity to purchase this humidor but I question it’s authentic. The mitre
concerns me. Is it real?

I think you're going to hear the same from a bunch of members and it's going to sound like.
Then use the extra money to buy cigars.
I agree that the tupperdor and Boveda is probably best, but I like the aesthetic of wood and this one, if authentic, is a good deal. I’d add a Boveda holder to it and a digi hygrometer.

No sarcasm at all intended in this question: How would one determine if it is authentic or fake?
The mitre in the corners is different on the ones I’ve seen on the DM site. The ones there aren’t straight, they are more complex. I’m not sure if this might make it fake.

Does it really matter? If it works, looks good, and is a satisfactory price then that's all you need to know.
That’s a very good, philosophical question. I think it’s subjective. It’s a point of debate as to whether it matters or not. For me, having a wood humidor from a reputable US maker is preferable to spending the same money on something from China on Amazon.

I see what you mean about the corners. Also, the examples on the website show an inner raised lip with a corresponding groove or rabbet on the lid, which seems intended to seal better and keep air from getting in or out.
I wouldn’t be as concerned with the authenticity as I would be with the condition. There appears to be water stains along with stains possibly made by mold. They hygrometer is fogged over but is reading at 40. This makes me think it has possibly been submerged in water. That humidification device is also a mold catcher.
No matter the authenticity, I’d avoid it like the plague.
I really appreciate all the comments from the community so far. This is now an easy decision for me. PASS! Thanks everyone.
