Congrats to all the Dodgers fans out there. And to my Yankees fans... You can still go another year telling everybody that you have 27 pennants.

Meh, I started to lose interest when the Phillies took a dump, then completely lost interest when it became LA vs NY.

I watched it this year, I don't always. I've no emotional attachment to any team, but it was fun to watch all the talent at work. I thought the Dodgers were just going to sweep the whole thing, then came game 4. I figure the rain freaked them out, it must be strange for LA people to see water falling from the sky, probably blew their minds.

That's a joke, BTW. In case anyone thought it was a serious comment.

At any rate, good Series. Lot's of high drama. Some of those players are truly gifted at what they do.

Yankees fans were chanting MVP for Aaron Judge.... do Yankees fans, not know that doesn't stand for Missing Valuable Person?

I get that, I do. It's nice to be somewhat detached though; franchise allegiance isn't supposed to eclipse the enjoyment of a given sport. People often suppose I'm a Packer fan, and my usual response runs along the lines of, "I like the Packers, but I like football more."

I would've liked NY to do better and extend the series, but it was still great fun.

edit: I'll never understand the looting that follows a win. Happiness makes you want to burn things? Sure, it's just malcontents looking for any reason to wreak havoc, which I will also never understand.

@peter4jc , I really don't watch (or listen to) any other teams besides the Phillies. When they aren't playing on a given night, I don't turn another games on. This year, with expectations so high, and fully half the season living up to the expectations, it was quite disheartening for them to fail they way they did, without really putting up a fight.

That being said, I was hoping another team like the Royals, or the Orioles, or Cleveland, or even Milwaukee (gasp!!) would make the WS. I would have listened and rooted for one of those teams. For the Dodgers/Yankees, no...no interest.

In Boston... we didn't root for, we rooted against.

MLB World Series is just like the AVN awards

    Please... do tell.

Completely pointless and a waste of hours of one’s time. Haven’t been able to watch baseball for years, way too long. My opinion of course, to each their own.

There's another reason to NOT watch the WS. During the season, the average time has dropped, and it is good. During the playoffs, forget it, back to 3+ hours, due to networks needing their $$$, and the bobbleheads doing interviews during the game, etc. Also, they scrap the ghost runner on second at the start of extra innings. I kinda like the ghost runner implementation, it really reduces the length of extra inning games.

WS is the two best teams competing for the ultimate title, not the Angels playing the A's on July 17th. I love the drama and the extra 30 minutes for 7 games is ok with me.

You might be right, Pete. I may still just be reacting to the Phillies flop. I do like the zombie runner (remembered that's how he is referred to, not ghost runner), it adds a level of excitement/intrigue to extra innings, while still letting me get to bed at a reasonable time, which I want to do during the regular season. It's rare that a game will go past 11 innings now.
