Figured this would be a good catch all for electronics and the like.

    Got a tech question for you guys.

    Anybody used a wireless keyboard on their smart TV? Saw a YouTube video for this one: Samsung Smart Wireless Keyboard VG-KBD2500/ZA
    https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/television-home-theater-accessories/televisions/smart-wireless-keyboard-vg-kbd2500-za/

    Costs $100 or more. Looking for something a bit cheaper. Does it have to be by samsung or can it be from anyone? There a Logitech keyboard with a track pad for just under $50. Would this work?

    @ShawnOL

    In my 15 years of Home Theater Integration I may have paired 3 keyboards to tvs. A lot of the newer tvs may support keyboard support but that doesn't mean the apps do. I'll dig deeper.

    PS Select Samsung and LG TVs (With Magic remote) definitely do.

    Is there not a Samsung app for the tv that would include a remote and the ability to use the keyboard on your phone or tablet?

    Thanks, Pete. Charlie, I have no idea. Would love to just use my phone.

    What are you using a keyboard for on your tv?

    A good cigar and whiskey solve most problems.

    I like to watch YouTube videos. Typing in the search bar with the remote takes forever.

    I have a Roku TV, and I use the Roku app to control it when I want to use the keyboard or voice commands in lieu of the keyboard.

    If you have a Roku TV or just a Roku, you can use the app in all of the applications within Roku. Same goes for fire stick and Google TV I think. Not sure about Apple.

    My crappy Vizio TV has a remote that has a flip out keyboard integrated into it. It was really cool like 8 years ago.

    Samsung tv. Going to try the Logitech. If it doesn't work I'll give it away. It's only $26 on Amazon.

    One thing to note, with my Roku app I can use my phone's keyboard or a Bluetooth keyboard connected to my phone to search for things, but the RokuYouTube app doesn't support this so I have to use the Roku remote.

    Sometimes it's easier to find a YouTube video in my phone and cast it to Roku to watch on my TV.
