Dry Boxing Cigars
I have reviewed several posts on this forum as well as doing some Google searches on the subject matter. I’m trying to get your perspective regarding this practice and why you do it other than the obvious reasons. Admittedly, I for one, have never dry boxed a cigar. I don’t have humidity issues with my various mediums I store my cigars. I rarely have burn issues. @Yakster Ive read several of your posts where you mentioned you are a proponent of the practice as well as many others on here that I respect their opinion. Also, @Usaf06 mentioned taking his cigars and placing in temporary storage in a desktop type humidor before smoking. Lastly, my palate is very much in the infancy stage, I’m not sure if I could tell the differences.
A good cigar and whiskey solve most problems.

It's not a common practice for me given my moderate climate and use of 65% Bovedas, most cigars are ready to smoke, but there are some like the Crowned Heads Le Pâtissier and some ISOM cigars that really benefit from at least a day of dry boxing.
I will sometimes simply take a cigar I'll be later, like a blind smoke, and set it out outside the humidor to acclimate before smoking.
Benefits of dry boxing are better flavor, prevents splitting when you smoke a cigar with a delicate wrapper on a dry day, and prevents too much soggyness.
For Floridians, dry boxing may be a common practice or necessity.
I have had some splitting issues. Makes sense for acclimatizing. Thanks.

Where I live I have never been trying to remove humidity. Once I switched from 69 to 62 bovedas everything I have it ready to smoke at all times.
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...
Unless you live in a super humid climate, I don't think dry boxing will provide you much. Acclimatization in the northeast can be crucial especially if a lighter cigar. I wouldn't even attempt to smoke a Cameroon this time of year, but in summer let it sit out for an hour or two and it will be fine.

At my house, dry boxing happens every time I tell my wife I'm going to buy some more cigars
