When did the forum topics turn into Questions?

I noticed today that most of the threads on the forum are now showing up as the question post type. What happened to the forum @TheCigarChick?

    And what's up with the ones that weren't so tagged? I couldn't find a reason why the malfunctioning algorithm excluded some threads.

    I don't like the question post type because it can change the order of the posts based on "answers" accepted to the question.

    I'm trying to dig into the backend of the coding and settings but so far have not had much luck... There have been no changes made by us on the CIGAR.com side of things, and there hasn't been a program update from the hosting company, either.

    I do know that VanillaX (hosting company) is sunsetting some of their layouts including the one we use, but we're not going to be switching to something else for awhile because we're going to replicate this one as best as we can to avoid disruption, et al, so let me try a few more tricks before I log a ticket.

    So I think I figured out how to do it, but now the tricky part is trying to see if there is a batched way to do the fix, otherwise this may take awhile. :neutral: Either way, you'll start seeing the "Question" badge disappear from the threads; I also triple-checked that setting wasn't in play, so let me know if new threads pop up with that weird badge or not because I may have to enter a tech ticket anyway.

    I had to go through the Discussions and fake-out the radio buttons on the Q&A settings individually. Those which started as legit questions I let the badge ride, but most didn't qualify so I swapped the designation to reset the thread.
