Trying to sell a humidor, but a costly one

I was gifted a MONTECRISTO 1935
ANNIVERSARY NICARAGUA
TESORO DE ORO HUMIDOR. With cigars retails $5000. Without (which is what I have) I was told $3700. Does anyone know where I can sell this item? It's too large for my home. But it's an absolute gorgeous piece.

If it was a gift, why not re-gift it?
Who told you $3700??? They couldn’t tell you where to get that kind of price??? If it is too large for your home, where is it now???
Hard to regift something of that value. Who told me $3700? I took some photos and brought it into a large NY cigar shop while they had Davidoff folks onsite. They told me, without the Montecristo 1935 cigars it comes with, it is around $3700. They suggested eBay and that's not yielded much results. They also then mentioned cigar forums or cigar shows. Just haven't had time for cigar shows. It's too large as in to have it out and displayed. It's in its original box in closet in my bedroom. Wished I had room to display and utilize it.
How much did it cost you? Start your value assessment from there.

Value doesn’t make something hard to regift. Seeing too much material value in something does.
I’m curious where they came up with the price. The 50 pyramids msrp for about $20 a stick coming to $1000. The other 30 (which are only released in that humidor) have no set msrp. Im going to guess if they did that it would be more than the regular production stick. Let’s say they are the same price. That comes to $600. That already knocks the price of the box down to $3400.
If the shop that priced it didn’t show interest in buying it and eBay hasn’t yielded results…I’m thinking it’s going to be a tough sell.
@Amos_Umwhat read my post. It was a gift. I didn't pay for it. So I'm getting the values online and local shop
@Rdp77 I double checked value. Cigars direct had it up (sold out) for $5000. It's a limited edition piece. I agree, may be a hard sell for me. As far as regift, it's not that I come from money. So it would be hard to just say I'll give it away. Who gave it to me was a wealthy person, so easy for them.

I read your post, you missed my point. It cost you nothing, you don't want it, whatever you get is 100% profit. How much effort you want to put into that is up to you.

@Amos_Umwhat very valid point. Just hard to sell it for say $500 when it's valued so high. But I do get your point.
Yeah I know they were priced at $5k..with the cigars I previously mentioned. Removing the “value” of the cigars is where I came up with the $3400. Rare and limited doesn’t necessarily mean value.
I have a gerbil powered unicycle. As far as I know it’s the only one in the world but I’ll be damned…no one will give me the $5k I’m asking for it.
To be honest, your friend way overpaid if he just wanted the cigars. Those cigars that msrp for over $20 a stick are regularly purchased for around $6-$8. Value is only what someone is willing to pay.
Wholesale is generally one half of retail. Might want to use that equation.
You might inquire with cigars direct and see if they will buy it from you, half of what they were selling them for.
Not a half bad idea @silvermouse
Stock photo? Sus.
If you don't want to go the eBay route, you could try Facebook Marketplace or maybe Reddit.
So now we know who to blame for all of the unsolicited sales posts. It's that ducking A hole from davidoff.
I guess the part I'm having a hard time understanding is that your house isn't big enough for it like you mentioned in another thread. Your house isn't big enough for something that's like 20x15x12? Something along those lines?
I'll give you $300 once I have tracking.
I don’t think trying to make a buck off someone’s gift to you is a great way to introduce yourself to a forum.
I suggest giving it back to the person who gave it to you so they can either use it themselves or gift it to someone who would appreciate it for more than what they might sale it for.
Any pics?

As for the $5000 humidor.....Smoke the cigars, sell the humidor at a charity auction, take it off your taxes.
