As is my custom I'd like to honor Marines of my platoon who were killed from May 13 to May 18 1967

Jerry Gorney platoon commander posthumous Silver star
Clyde Clark platoon sergeant
Michael Stewart posthumous Navy Cross
John Avila
Richard Sarakas
Michael Amato
James West
Thomas Chaffin
George Linder
Stanley Godwin
Russel Keck posthumous Navy Cross
Doc James Gales

We were in a three day frontal assault with a battalion of dug in and well camouflaged North Vietnamese Army regulars. We had to sacrifice our point Marines to find enemy bunkers.
I am alive because of their sacrifice, I sing their praisers.

Thank you for keeping their sacrifices known. Most of us will never fully appreciate what they did.

I don't have problems, just more work to do.

Sorry for what you and the others had to go through ( as well as so many others). It is a good day to honor them and their loved ones that also paid a price. Realize you are not asking for it, never the less you deserve a Thank You for everything that you had to go through, in those few days that cost so much and after.
