Different wrapper sampler

OmgFrigginMikeOmgFrigginMike Posts: 245 ✭✭✭✭

I did a quick search and didn't really see anything but what would be a good "budget sampler" that you would create with one or two of each different wrapper type. I'm trying to explore them and figure out a little more of what I like but I have mostly only had Connecticut and Maduro so far.

Yeah, samplers tend to go by wrapper, unfortunately. Here would be a good place to start:

I may have worded that poorly. I know I can create samplers myself but I was curious about recommendations for each type. If you were building a sampler and wanted to try all(or a lot) of the different wrappers what would you build there? My focus is to understand the different flavors of the wrappers so probably with a more mild filler.

Only one way to do what you’re asking. Pick singles of what you want to explore. What other people want doesn’t necessarily align with your palate. Besides exploring is a fun part of the hobby process. Also, keep in mind that it’s not just about the wrapper. Wrapper, binder and filler(s) are all components of the overall taste experience.

A good cigar and the open road solve most problems.

Ave Maria morning star sampler. You can find it on Ccom, Cigar International, or Cbid

If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

@Rdp77 Those both look like exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you!

@OmgFrigginMike I wouldn't worry too much about specific blends and/or wrappers just yet. Buy what suits the budget and grow from there. One company's Habano cigar may be totally different than another because the filler could be totally different. Smoke them all my friend.

Probably a better idea. I'm just so anxious to try it all! haha

That's the thing.... you can't. There are too many out there. Find the ones that interest you and go for it.

Oooh I did have a corojo that I absolutely loved. Alec Bradley sanctum! Possibly my favorite cigar so far.

I really need to start spell checking myself.

DPG blue is a corojo. Camacho also has a good corojo cigar.

I think I’m gonna have to try both of them but that dpg blue gets me all excited.

    Criollo is very underrated .
