Honest brand lighters and cutters, use/like them?

Just wanted to know. I picked up a dual-flame torch with flip-out punch cutter on Ebay for cheap and figured I'd ask the forum and see if anyone used these and how they feel about them.

I bought one in Mexico and it worked fine for a while, then it wouldn't light anymore. So...I don't know, mine wasn't all that great, but I might have done something to it for all I know.

haha. That was my impression of this guy from the B&M who makes Lassy look like a choir boy. Garen can attest to this one, but this guy had been addicted to everything possible from drinking to gambling, sex and I think he even mentioned crack. A real character with some stories to tell.

A quote from that guy, "Crack gets a bad rap man." He was hilarious and was addicted to everything from Cialis to crack to gambling. Lassy would need a lot of Miller Lite to even have a chance to get on this guy's craziness level.

Sounds like he'd be a lot of fun to listen to, lol. I didn't know **** and cialis were addictive? Definitely fed the sex addiction though, I'm sure, haha.

To his credit though, he wasn't chain smoking cigars, so at least he could keep one thing in check.

Oh, does Lassie chain smoke cigars regularly? Or is that only when he's been hitting the Miller Lite for a while? Haha

To get back to the original question, I don't use any of the fancy stuff. I use a cheap $5 cutter and a punch I bought in NC for $1.50 and I love both of them. And I use one of those long, flexible neck, butane torches which you'd used to light your grill with. I even take it to the golf course with me. If not that, then matches. I just can't justify taking away cigar money by buying some $80 cutter.

Well, I think I'm doing pretty good then. $9.90 shipped ain't bad for any torch lighter, especially a dual torch.

Bacon I found a $5 triple flame torch lighter at my local B&M that you can actually refill. Gonna buy a few more for the car and just in case I lose one because I love it. It has a few problems with lighting when it is COLD out but that is the same with any butane lighter. Other wise I use the long lighter that suspect was talking about or matches. You just can't go wrong with it. The other thing is that they are very inexpensive.

Yeah Sandman. I don't know about you but I love my grill lighter. I've been using it since I started smoking cigars and it always comes through for me. Plus the adjustable neck allows you to hold the lighter however you're comfortable and get that perfect light every time. Other butane lighters I've had trouble getting to light where this one is always dependable, I've had trouble figuring out how much fluid is in it while this has a fluid site gauge right on the side, I've had trouble keeping the flame going long enough light my cigar while this one will keep going until the fluid runs out. I'll take dependability over cosmetics every time.

I had one something like that, it worked good for a while then, stopped making flames, I think it got clogged with the substandard fuel I used. Theses lighters arnt the type that you will have for the rest of you days ...ok lighters but not great...Personally next time around Im going to bit the bullet and buy something with a long long long warranty and use the cheapo ebay lighter on away trips ect..

Suspect, I love it so much that I put one in my truck for the road trips! They work perfectly everytime. Can't say the same for any other lighter that I have used. I love the window to see how much fuel is left. I do have a sexy lighter that I will use when I'm trying to show off in public but the torch sometimes burns the wrapper because I'm not used to using it. Ironic though that I used the torch lighter today at home by myself. I wanted to see if it still has fuel in it so I can take it out for all the holiday parties.

I bought a Colibri knock-off at a local B&M for about $30 and much to my surprise, it's been awesome.  Some friends had the same one and it went up in flames in their hand but it was replaced without question.  Mine has just kept going and going even after getting dropped a time or 2.  The cool thing is, it has 2 punches in the bottom that works just as well.

I also have the Cigar.com branded Colibri I got free with an order which I really liked, being a single torch and it worked great, for a few days.  It'll hardly light then when it does, the gas takes 5-6 seconds before it completely shuts off after letting off.  The "cover" over the tank is pretty loose as well, but it was free so it is what it is.

I'm not sure spending a lot on a lighter will get much more than nice looks and good construction, but as far as functioning, I think most will do the job the same.
